Soon enough, one of the platform\u2019s most influential users will be at the helm of the company. Earlier this week,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2022\/06\/16\/elon-musk-twitter-employees-town-hall\">Musk held a virtual town hall meeting with all Twitter staff<\/a>, and he covered all sorts of topics \u2013 including potential layoffs, his stance on remote work, and heck \u2013 even whether or not he\u2019s seen evidence of aliens.<\/p>\n<p>But as a product person, one thing especially stood out to me:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2022\/6\/17\/23172439\/elon-musk-spacex-tesla-twitter-meeting\">Musk suggested that there ought to be an \u201cirony\u201d label for tweets<\/a>\u00a0so people can indicate that their tweet was meant to be ironic.<\/p>\n<p>LOL<\/p>\n<p>I bet in our lifetime, we have all had\u00a0<em>that boss<\/em>\u00a0at least once. You know, the one that will commandeer a product meeting just to share feedback about a feature that his wife\u2019s uncle \u2013 \u201cwho is a really smart guy\u201d \u2013 came up with. Or while on vacation, he had this realization of where the product roadmap ought to go. Clearly, Musk is\u00a0<em>that boss<\/em>. It doesn\u2019t matter if there are literally people brought into the company to focus on things like solving customer problems and setting product strategies. Musk\u2026 has some ideas.<\/p>\n<p>But how do you\u00a0<em>deal<\/em>\u00a0with these types of bosses?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.themuse.com\/advice\/4-strategies-to-try-when-your-boss-suggests-something-truly-terrible\">The Muse wrote a post in the past<\/a>\u00a0about how to deal with bosses who have bad ideas. Spoiler alert \u2013 one of the solutions is simply doing nothing at all and just keeping your mouth shut. As a product person, I don\u2019t know if I could live with myself if I just blindly accepted a\u00a0<em>truly<\/em>\u00a0bad idea, though.
