We\u2019ve been having a lot of fun with the newest season of <\/span>Rocketship.FM<\/span><\/a>, which features confessions about the workplace submitted by product people. These confessions have been a lot of fun to listen to and dissect with guest experts. One of the upcoming episodes features a confession about a very ambitious product manager who has his sights set on the Chief Product Officer role at his company. There\u2019s just one problem — his boss currently holds that role. The confession was essential that this person wanted their boss\u2019s job.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our guest expert for this episode was Product Coach and Consultant, Dan Olsen — Author of <\/span>The Lean Product Playbook. <\/span><\/i>I won\u2019t give a complete spoiler here. But Dan gave some great perspective about this particular person\u2019s confession. The answer isn\u2019t that you should be gunning for your boss\u2019s job. Instead, it\u2019s actually much more simple. If you want to be a Product Leader\u2026 then <\/span>lead<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n
